Pathways Case Record: A Case on Post-Splenectomy Persistent Thromboembolism
The Pathways Service investigated the case of patient with a past medical history of a truck collision 15 years prior that led to multiple orthopedic surgeries of his extremities and a traumatic splenectomy. Femoral–Popliteal Bypass Graft Thrombosis May Be Sign of Occult Cancer
C.Y. Maximilian Png, MD, and Anahita Dua, MD, MS, MBA, of the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, and colleagues have determined that occult cancer doubles the risk of graft thrombosis and major adverse limb events in patients who undergo femoral–popliteal bypass.
