The Latest Cardiovascular Advances

Hanna Barnes, MD, Christian Lino Cardenas, PhD, PharmD, Rajeev Malhotra, MD, and colleagues add to the understanding of the genetic basis of coronary artery calcification by identifying 43 candidate genes at 11 chromosomal locations and demonstrating effects on cellular reprogramming leading to vascular calcification.

Moussa Mansour, MD, and colleagues showed in the ADVENT registrational trial of the Farapulse system that among patients with atrial fibrillation, pulsed-field ablation was noninferior to conventional thermal ablation with respect to efficacy and device- and procedure-related serious adverse events within one year.
