Bone Penetration of Cement Does Not Differ by Cement Type or Application Timepoint
Orthopedics researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital used the first porcine model to study how cement bone penetration is influenced by cement type and application timing. They found no penetration advantage of any specific cement or timing, but it's best to apply cement early for optimal mantle thickness.

Rohan Bhimani, MD, MBA, Daniel Guss, MD, MBA, and colleagues in the Foot and Ankle Research and Innovation Laboratory at Massachusetts General Hospital found that, even in the presence of a Weber B lateral malleolar ankle fracture, weight-bearing CT is still able to distinguish a stable from an unstable syndesmosis.
