Biography

David Eddie, PhD, is an attending clinical psychologist in the Department of Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He received his BA from Columbia University and his PhD in clinical psychology from Rutgers University, and completed his clinical residency and post-doctoral research fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Eddie provides short- and long-term psychotherapy using cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy. He is also trained in mindfulness-based cognitive therapy and heart rate variability biofeedback. Dr. Eddie specializes in the treatment of addiction and borderline personality disorder, as well as clinical presentations that commonly co-occur with these problems such as anxiety and depressive disorders.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Eddie is a researcher at Massachusetts General Hospital's Recovery Research Institute and Center for Addiction Medicine, where he investigates how problems regulating emotion are implicated in the development and maintenance of addiction.
