Biography
Alex Keuroghlian, MD, MPH is the Director of the Gender Identity Program in the Department of Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital, the Public and Community Psychiatry Curriculum Director for the MGH/McLean psychiatry residency program, and the Director of Education and Training Programs at The Fenway Institute. He is principal investigator of the federally funded National LGBTQIA+ Health Education Center. Dr. Keuroghlian received his medical degree and Masters in Neurosciences from the Stanford University School of Medicine. He completed his psychiatry residency at the MGH/McLean Hospital training program, where he also served as Chief Resident in Public and Community Psychiatry. He completed a Master of Public Health (Health Policy and Management) at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Keuroghlian is Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School (HMS), and he is the recipient of numerous HMS teaching and mentorship awards. Dr. Keuroghlian is primary clerkship director for the fourth-year sexual and gender minority health clerkship at HMS. He has authored over 60 research articles, review articles, and book chapters on topics that include HIV medication adherence, post-traumatic stress disorder, substance use disorders, transgender health, and homelessness among LGBTQIA+ youth.
