Biography
Mandy Simon has more than 23-years of experience in the healthcare industry. Dr. Simon is a cardiovascular disease researcher, a nurse practitioner, and an Associate Professor. Dr. Simon expanded her research on stroke biomarkers to the United Kingdom (UK). She is developing an algorithm to identify individuals in the healthy population that should be screened for incident stroke. Simultaneously, Dr. Simon is using her original research done at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, for the "at-risk" populations to create a validation tool. Professionally, Dr. Simon is part of a multidisciplinary team of cardiovascular disease researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) in the Division of Cardiology. A research team headed by Dr. James L. Januzzi, Jr. who is a pioneer of first-in-human analysis of several novel heart failure biomarkers, including two with regulatory approval (ST2 and Galectin-3). Clinically, Simon works on an inpatient stroke/internal medicine service with her physician colleagues. Academically, Simon works at Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts as an Associate Professor. Her taught specialty is Doctoral level Health Informatics, and also serves as a Doctoral Project Chair for selected students completing their DNP. Previous roles at Regis College included working as the Director, Curriculum Development & Faculty Mentoring for the Regis College Haiti Project, & Lecturer in the MHA/MSN programs. Dr. Simon's expertise focuses on systems thinking in Health Informatics. She developed the curriculum for the Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral level courses. Dr. Simon splits her time between Boston, Massachusetts and London, England where she is completing a Master's of Business Administration degree at Imperial College. Her MBA thesis is laying the strategy/business model to found her international research organization. An organization designed to advance research & distribution of disruptive and novel scientific medical technologies.
