Proton Craniospinal Irradiation Technique Influences Rate of Phantosmia in Pediatric Patients
Shannon M. MacDonald, MD, Myrsini Ioakeim-Ioannidou, MD, and colleagues retrospectively detected a 29% incidence of phantosmia among pediatric patients undergoing proton craniospinal irradiation, and the rate was significantly higher with the pencil beam scanning technique than with passive scattering.
