Medical Grand Rounds: Updates in Hypertension Among Older Adults
A recent Medical Grand Rounds presentation featured Warren Backman, MBBS, of Massachusetts General Hospital, who joined other experts to discuss recent developments in the diagnosis and treatment of hypertension in older adults.
Biography
Warren Backman, MBBS is an attending physician in Geriatric Medicine and a member of the Core Visit Faculty for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Massachusetts General Hospital. He graduated from University College London Medical School in England, and completed a 2-year internship in the UK’s National Health Service. Subsequently he completed both an Internal Medicine residency and a Geriatric Medicine fellowship at Boston University and Boston Medical Center, followed by an additional fellowship in Geriatrics at the Veterans Affairs New England Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine.
In addition to practicing the full spectrum of geriatric care at Mass General and attending on the Internal Medicine teaching service (Bigelow Service), Dr Backman directs a collaboration with the Cardiology department at Mass General to provide multidisciplinary geriatric cardiology care.
