Reading Text Better Than Watching Videos to Improve Acuity of Artificial Vision Simulation
Based on experiments with normal-sighted volunteers, John S. Pezaris, PhD, and colleagues believe that for rehabilitation after implantation of a visual prosthesis, having patients engage in a passive task such as watching videos would be much less effective than training them with active tasks such as reading.

John S. Pezaris, PhD, is an assistant professor in neurosurgery in the Department of Neurosurgery and assistant investigator in the Mass General Research Institute at Massachusetts General Hospital.
