Smartphone Monitoring Feasible for Quantifying Mobility of Patients with ALS
Using location tracking data provided by smartphones, James D. Berry, MD, MPH, of the Neurological Clinical Research Institute at Massachusetts General Hospital, and colleagues documented behavioral changes among patients with ALS after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Biography
Dr. JP Onnela, is associate professor of Biostatistics and the Director of the Master of Science in Health Data Science Program. He joined the Department of Biostatistics in 2011. He was previously a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard Medical School, a Fulbright Scholar at the Harvard Kennedy School and a Junior Research Fellow at the University of Oxford. He obtained his doctorate at the Helsinki University of Technology (now Aalto University) in 2006, where his dissertation received the Dissertation of the Year Award from the university. He received NIH Director’s New Innovator Award in 2013 for the Digital Phenotyping project.
