Low-cost, Repeat COVID-19 Testing Would Decrease Cases, Hospitalizations and Deaths
Using computer modeling, Massachusetts General Hospital researchers showed in Massachusetts that expanding COVID-19 testing beyond people with severe symptoms would reduce morbidity, mortality and key hospital resource use even when outbreaks are slowing.
Biography
Anne M. Neilan, MD, MPH, is an instructor at Harvard Medical School, and an adult infectious disease physician and pediatrician at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Her primary research interests include health outcomes in HIV-infected adolescents and adolescents at risk of HIV infection. She is a Fellow in the Medical Practice Evaluation Center at Massachusetts General Hospital which she joined in 2014. Dr. Neilan earned her MD and MPH from The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York in 2007.
