Biography

Mikael J. Pittet is associate professor at Harvard Medical School and director of the Cancer Immunology Program in the Center for Systems Biology at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Mikael Pittet completed his PhD thesis in Immunology at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research and graduated from University of Lausanne in 2001. Following his degrees, Pittet moved to Boston where he pursued post-doctoral research at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Pittet became assistant professor at Harvard Medical School in 2006, Associate Professor in 2013, and professor in 2019. Pittet was named Samana Cay MGH Research Scholar in 2015 and appointed Director of the CSB Cancer Immunology Program in 2016. Pittet is a member of the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center and Immunology Program at Harvard Medical School.
Pittet is based at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is a faculty member of the Department of Radiology and of the MGH Research Institute. He serves on the editorial board of the journals Cell Stress and Cancer Immunology Research.
