Noninvasive Measurement of Brain Activity Might Improve Prognostication, Treatment of Glioma
Working with colleagues in the Netherlands, a neuroscientist at Massachusetts General Hospital has demonstrated for the first time that noninvasive measurement of brain activity with magnetoencephalography can predict progression-free survival in patients with glioma and might even lead to new therapeutic strategies.
Biography
Linda Douw is a Research Fellow at the Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital and an Assistant Professor at VU University Medical Center Amsterdam. Her research focuses on cognition, imaging, and applying network theory to neuroimaging (MEG, fMRI, DTI) in neurological patient populations (neuro-oncology, epilepsy).
