Dr. Ajay Singla received his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, and Master of Surgery, at Maharshi Dayanand University in Rohtak, India. Prior to moving to United States, he received his urology and surgical training in the United Kingdom. He went on to complete a research fellowship in female urology and urodynamics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed a clinical fellowship in neuro-urology and urodynamics at Emory University. After residency at Emory University in Atlanta in general surgery and at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in urology, he began his academic medicine career at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He went on to become a full professor with the Department of Urology at Wayne State University in Detroit. Before joining the Harvard Medical School faculty and Department of Urology at Massachusetts General Hospital in May 2017, he was a faculty member at the University of Toledo Departments of Urology and Obstetrics & Gynecology, and acted as Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs. Dr. Singla enjoys mentoring medical students and remains committed to urology residents’ education and training as the director of the Urology residency program at Mass General. He has been invited to multiple international congresses as a guest speaker and proctor in teaching urologists globally in the field of male incontinence. As a world renowned, board-certified clinician, Dr. Singla’s practice focuses on female urology and female pelvic floor reconstruction, including pelvic organ prolapse repair and male incontinence surgery. Dr. Singla has been honored with numerous awards. He remains involved in clinical research, and his research interest focuses on biological materials in sling surgery in both men and women. Dr. Singla has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. His urology textbook Post-Prostatectomy Incontinence – Evaluation and Management is the first of its kind with contributions from world-renowned surgeons.
