Dr. Bragdon, a member of the Harris Lab for over 35 years, earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Sciences from Göteborg University, where he wrote his Ph.D thesis on the methods of measuring wear of polyethylene acetabular components in total hip arthroplasty. His current research is centered on clinical outcomes studies and the clinical performance of new implant materials and prosthetic designs. He is consistently active in the educational components of this research field, instructing and taking part in educational workshops with orthopedic residents, orthopedic fellows, orthopedic surgeons, postdoctoral fellows, research fellows, M.D. and PhD candidates, as well as laboratory technicians, technologists and summer interns at Harvard Medical School, the Orthopedic Research Society, and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
