This hybrid CME course, held September 17 – 20, 2022, examines the latest research and treatment advances for rheumatic conditions. Experts from Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham & Women’s Hospital will present on the latest breakthroughs in the diagnosis, treatment, and pathophysiology of rheumatic diseases. For more than 40 years, this conference has been influential in educating generations of clinicians on over 100 rheumatic conditions.
Overview
"Advances in Rheumatology" examines the latest research and treatment advances for rheumatic conditions. Experts from Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital will present on the latest breakthroughs in the diagnosis, treatment, and pathophysiology of rheumatic diseases. For more than 40 years, this conference has been influential in educating generations of clinicians on over 100 rheumatic conditions.
This year's course is a hybrid event, both in-person at The Row Hotel in Somerville, MA, and virtual. The four days of live CME activities are formatted with lectures by leading Mass General Brigham experts, curbside consult sessions, and panel discussions.
Target Audience
This CME course is intended for primary care physicians, specialty physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in dermatology, endocrinology, family medicine, infectious disease, internal medicine, oncology and hematology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pathology, preventative medicine, pulmonary medicine, rheumatology, urology, and allergy and immunology.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Evaluate the latest scientific advances in the field of rheumatology
- Analyze insights from pathology, immunology, and pharmacology that pertain to specific rheumatologic issues
- Translate the latest developments in the field of rheumatology to clinical practice
- Integrate new treatment approaches for patients with rheumatic disease
- Apply new diagnostic techniques in their patient population

The Advances in Rheumatology course will be presented in a hybrid format with an onsite attendance option for Saturday – Monday’s presentations and fully virtual on Tuesday. In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, precautionary measures have been taken into consideration and onsite capacity will be limited to 100 attendees only. All attendees are expected to comply with local and state mandates at the time of the event.
Registration for on-site attendance is reserved for attendees traveling from outside the Boston area. Mass General Brigham faculty should register to attend virtually for now. Greater on-site attendance may be permitted as the time of the course draws closer.
