De Novo Stress Urinary Incontinence Common After Laparoscopic Sacrocolpopexy
Youngwu Kim, MD, Emily Von Bargen, DO, and colleagues found that of 169 stress-continent women who underwent minimally invasive sacrocolpopexy, 30 (18%) developed stress urinary incontinence (SUI). An existing calculator for determining the risk of postoperative de novo SUI performed moderately well in the cohort.

Telemedicine Well Accepted in Urogynecology Clinic Early in the COVID-19 Pandemic
Physicians in the Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery Program at Massachusetts General Hospital found that 81% of patients reported no trouble with telemedicine technology early in the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time period, 89% of patients were willing to continue telemedicine regardless of age or difficulty with the technology.

Youngwu Kim, MD, is an obstetrician-gynecologist in the Division of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and an instructor in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School.
