Clinicians at Massachusetts General Hospital are collecting and curating resources to help medical professionals stay up to date during the COVID-19 pandemic. These resources span across services and provide guidance on evaluations, recommended lab work, medications and documentation of patients under investigation for and confirmed to be infected with COVID-19.
This is an overview of some of the guidance, resources and protocols being utilized across the hospital:
Inpatient Care Recommendations

Obstetrics Recommendations
According to clinicians from Mass General Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, most COVID-19 advice for pregnant women is similar to the advice for the general population. The team has compiled information to assist in the care for pregnant patients.
ECMO Recommendations
Clinicians at the Mass General Corrigan Minehan Heart Center are utilizing extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) as a rescue therapy for severely ill COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) patients. The team has compiled protocols and strategies, and have discussed how ECMO has been used as a rescue therapy.
Guide to Mental Health Resources
The Mass General Department of Psychiatry has curated a set of resources with an emphasis on materials that will be of use to providers and those they serve during the COVID-19 pandemic. The guide has six main categories:
